Increasingly, people experience negative effects of stress on their overall health. Experts have tracked considerable losses in productivity among employees who experience high levels of stress. While an isolated stress management program brings about a certain level of success, in order to truly aid employees in dealing with stress, a combination of goal specific measurement and intervention is essential. We all need and, to a degree, thrive on stress. It gives us energy, it helps with performance, it inspires confidence. But when stress becomes harmful – perhaps due to too much (or too little) work, lack of time for social, family and personal activities, inadequate training to do the job, or external factors – it can lead to other mental health issues such as anxiety and depression or even burnout.
